Exhibition to tour Tasmania

From July to September Leigh Hobbs's art and writing will tour five Tasmanian libraries in a special exhibition produced by Books Illustrated.






















Leigh Hobbs: Characters from the Drawing Board takes a close look at some of Leigh’s characters, in particular, Old Tom, Horrible Harriet and Mr Chicken.

A series of panels provide biographical information about Leigh, his art and the development of his characters. A display of some treasures from Leigh’s studio including original sketches, sketch books and art materials and Illustrations of his famous book characters are presented as high definition giclee prints.

10 July to 25 July (school holidays): West Coast Community Service Hub

31 July to 10 August: Burnie LINC

14 August to 29 August: Launceston LINC

4 September to 14 September: Bridgewater LINC

18 September to 28 September: Huon LINC

And Leigh will be in Tasmania 14-18 for a tour supported by LINC Tasmania, the Australia Council for the Arts and the Cultural Fund of the Copyright Agency. Over the two years of Leigh's role as Laureate he is visiting every state and territory to present a series of events for children and adults. We thank out partners for their support.
