Every child has a story to tell. I'm looking forward to continuing my work with kids and helping them to turn their stories into books. During my time as a Laureate I hope to create a collection of children's writing from all over Australia, a record of my travels and all the stories that have been shared along the way.

Alison Lester loves travelling around Australia, helping children turn their stories into books. During her two years as the Australian Children’s Laureate* she is working on a book of her own, a collection of children’s writing, painting, drawings and photographs. The book will feature children from all over Australia describing their lives, hopes and dreams.
